MERGE this week was amazing. We learned about true Christian faith in God, not "chair faith", that we all think of faith as. We learned that real faith is being sure of what as we hope for and being certain that what we cannot see is truly there. The real dude Abraham, the old dude that had absolute faith in the Lord, was the main example that we learned about. He obeyed in faith, by leaving his hometown of Ur, and going to an unknown land faraway that only the Holy Father knew of. Abe trusted in faith enough to belief that the Lord would gift him with a son to sire the Jewish people, even though he was like 100 and his old lady was 90 or so. He executed in faith, doing what the Lord commanded, almost sacrificing his only son Isaac on the Mount Moriah. As we know, Abraham was a pimp. We also learned about the prostitute Rahab that let the Hebrew spies into Jericho and helped them escape, keeping faith that the Hebrews would not come into her house and kill her family. She welcomed the Hebrew spies with faith, she told them what she believed with faith, proclaiming she believed in the God of the Hebrews, and planned with faith that she would be safe when the Hebrews came she would be safe. All authentic faith comes with a promise, and that promise is in that the Lord will do as we expect him to do, when we do what he expects of us.
We also had a spectacular time eating pizza, I personally ate about 8 pieces, and played a lot of fun games.
