MERGE: 11/29

Last week was our first week back in the swing of things for MERGE. So to kick off the new week we did an interesting game where you had to get the most signatures on your foot as you could. Our own Julia won the title of the game then we started out worship were Jeff played perfectly and got the youth group pumped up. As MERGE continues to grow we will have fun, and chris need to be more inspired to rite this!!! Then Chris Goeppner gave his beautiful presentation about grace! It was amazing how Chris Goeppner spoke about what Grace is. Grace is mercy, compassion, and ultimate forgiveness! Then during the game of medic Wes made a horrible call by telling me that is was out when the ball never touched me and so he made so we lost!! That night was fun and amazing and you guys should bring your friends out so that they can experience this ultimate fun time event!!

Back to normal...

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving! Me and Penny (my wife) went to North Carolina for the week and had a great time. After a few days off of school (and work!) and a whole lot of food, it's back to normal! Just a reminder that we will be meeting Wednesday night at Inddependence Middle School for our MERGE Student Ministry Worship Service. Make sure you get there early for some pizza and stuff! I look forward to seeing everyone there!

MERGE: 11/15

This Wednesday we talked about Thanksgiving and the people that knew the true meaning of being a giver instead of a receiver. The king Hezekiah took charge of his town after sin ruled it for so long. He first destroyed all the pagan altars and the next day he stood by the church gates and assigned the priests and Levites to praise and teach the word of God (2 Chronicles 31 1-8). As always we had a very good crowd and enjoyed the games, especially when Jeff and Pastor Chris dueled it out in the medic game. We also talked about the first Thanksgiving in the U.S. and the ideas that they had to first praise and worship God and then thank him with a feast.

We took a bus-load of students down to Sound Advice Ampitheater for WayFM's annual music festival. For many students this would be their first ever Christian festival or even Christian concert! To get info on each band that performed click on the corresponding name below.

MERGE: 11/1

This Wednesday was unreal! Our game this week was a little disgusting. For those who werent able to come out this is what you missed: one unusual Happy Meal eating contest and a girl winner! Kiwi beat Jacob in a Happy Meal drinking contest. Thats right, we blended 2 Happy Meals then poured them into a cup and chugged. Kiwi was impressive in her victory as Jacob puked his out. Congrats to you Kiwi!! Jeff lead us in praise to God as the crowd bounced and worship as we lifted our hands and fell on our faces before the God of this Universe. Chris then led us in a study from Psalm 15:1-2a. The question of the night was "Who can hang with God?" The answer is found right here: "LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous"
